Aerosol Extinguishing Systems & Fire Extinguishers
Discover the operation and benefits of our aerosol extinguishing systems and fire extinguishers
With our very wide range of automatic extinguishing systems and aerosol fire extinguishers, we can offer a solution for the most diverse fire protection problems. Our extinguishing systems are tested and approved for the most diverse applications. From protecting buses, trains and boats to control cabinets, goods lifts, factory halls and wind turbines.
We offer various automatic extinguishing systems. Our RSL Fire aerosol generators, also known as ‘Condensed Aerosol Generators’ or ‘Aerosol Fire Suppression Systems’, are ideal for enclosed spaces as the aerosols can suppress the re-ignition of the fire for up to several hours.
Our automatic extinguishing systems can be installed as a new system, as a replacement for your current system or as an extension of an existing extinguishing system.
The advantages of our Aerosol Fire Suppression Systems
Our aerosol fire suppression systems offer many advantages and can be used for the most diverse applications. Our aerosol extinguishing systems are cheaper than gas and sprinkler systems, require little maintenance and protect against various fires. Thanks to the unique technology, re-ignition is prevented very effectively and in two ways, even with burning lithium-ion batteries. Our aerosol generators are of the highest quality and certified by the most renowned institutes worldwide.
The true power of our systems is the simplicity of our technology. The solid compound that only turns into an aerosol when activated is what makes our systems so effective and easy-to-install and -maintain at the same time.

Our Fire Suppression Systems
Our aerosol fire extinguishers and generators have an extinguishing capacity of 0.2 to 79 m3 per unit. Our smallest units are ideal for closed and small spaces such as the engine compartment of a classic car or a small control box. Our larger units offer fire protection in larger (partly open) spaces. The combination of several units in a centrally controlled fire protection system offers endless possibilities. In addition to our aerosol generators for closed spaces and vehicles, we also offer some powder extinguishers suitable for protecting open spaces and handheld aerosol fire extinguishers.
We are the only manufacturer to also offer VdS certified aerosol fire extinguishers without a built-in cooling system. As a result, less extinguishing agent is required per m3 and there are even less residual substances left after activation. The operation and benefits are otherwise the same as our units with a built-in cooling system. For applications that require maximum extinguishing power, we recommend our units with a built-in cooling system. Our complete product line-up offers several variants with both radial and axial outflow that can be used for the most diverse applications and spaces.

The best automatic fire suppression system
Pressure-free, no piping and with a long service life
Our fully automatic extinguishing systems were originally developed for use in the aerospace and defense sectors. As a high-end fire extinguisher and aerosol generator, the extinguishing agent is based on a solid chemical compound that remains completely stable until activated. The automatic extinguishing system can be activated manually or automatically, electrically with a voltage of 6-30V or with an analog ignition. In the latter case, no external energy source is required and the aerosol fire extinguishers work completely autonomously and automatically.
An automatic aerosol extinguishing system consists essentially of the extinguishing generator, a fire detection system suitable for the extinguishing area and, if necessary, an electrical control device (EST) in the form of an control center. We offer solutions for the complete chain from fire detection to extinguishing itself.
The aerosol produced during extinguishing behaves like gas and extinguishes the fire both chemically and physically. The conversion of potassium bicarbonate to potassium carbonate chemically removes oxidizing substances from the combustion process. Without oxidation there can be no fire. Since this chemical reaction is a so-called “endothermic” reaction, additional heat is also extracted from the system at the same time.
Aerosol from RSL Fire offers the most effective fire fighting method!
The RSL Fire aerosol fire suppression systems are the only aerosol systems certified by Europe’s number one for fire protection: VdS
AEROSOL AS EXTINGUISHING AGENT
Fast, safe, environmentally friendly and reliable
An aerosol is a mixture of a gas and solid and/or liquid suspended particles. The combustion of the solid matter in the aerosol generators creates an aerosol of liquid / solid and gaseous particles, consisting of potassium carbonates, with a particle size of approximately 1 μm.
The essential extinguishing agent of the aerosol is potassium hydrogen carbonate, which decomposes very quickly at a temperature of approx. 50 °C, releasing water and carbon dioxide. This creates potassium carbonate. Potassium carbonate is considered harmless from a physiological point of view; it is also in food as additive E501.
ONE EXTINGUISHING PROCESS WITH DOUBLE EXTINGUISHING POWER
The conversion of potassium hydrogen carbonate to potassium carbonate chemically removes oxidizing agents from the combustion process. Without oxidation there can be no fire.
The oxygen content of the ambient air is not reduced. Because this chemical process is a so-called endothermic reaction, additional heat is extracted from the combustion process at the same time. For example, the fire is extinguished in two ways and the chance of re-ignition is considerably reduced.

Strategies for Optimal Fire Protection
DIRECT
1. Fire in an electrical- or server cabinet.
2. The automatic extinguishing system in the cabinet is activated and extinguishes the fire.
3. Minimal damage to the relevant switch- or server cabinet.
The direct automatic fire suppression system offers the possibility to fight the fire directly where the fire starts. The unique rapid extinguishing success is achieved by the fact that the very compact extinguishers can be placed directly in the objects to be protected and by the extremely fast response time of our fire extinguishers (usually less than 10 seconds). This provides optimal protection for servers or other electrical devices. This effectively prevents major material damage and the associated failure.
INDIRECT
1. Fire in an electrical- or server cabinet.
2. Fire detectors are activated and the alarm is reported to the control unit.
3. The extinguishing system is activated and the fire is extinguished.
The standard system consists of an automatic fire alarm system including a control unit with emergency power supply and one or more extinguishing units. If desired, the system can be expanded with manual activation, audiovisual alarm systems and signals to the fire panel or even to the fire brigade. Our systems can also be integrated into existing fire alarm systems.
